Une petite faute très commune mais qui peut être aisément corrigée, le cas de "pour" suivi d'un verbe!

Un cadeau pour Tom...       vs           Pour voir Tom...

Deux cas, deux constructions différentes en anglais.

Watch and think!

pour Tom, c'est pour + nom ou pronom (lui etc)

pour voir, c'est pour + verbe

pour Tom => FOR Tom

pour toi => FOR you

mais

pour voir => TO see

pour apprendre => TO learn

On met for devant un nom et to devant un verbe.

Devant un verbe, on peut également mettre IN ORDER TO (dans le but de)

To clean your room, you need a vacuum cleaner = In order to clean your room, you need a vacuum-cleaner

I study hard in order to get good marks = I study hard to get good marks
